The Locarno Film Festival is a film festival held in Locarno and is the most important Swiss film event.
It is recognized as a competitive festival by the International Federation of Film Producers’ Associations, along with the Cannes, Berlin or Venice Festivals.

With each edition, the city and its Festival welcome thousands of people. Spectators who experience the theaters discovering the hundreds of films in competition in hundreds of screenings from morning until evening.
And it is precisely in the evening that Piazza Grande, Locarno’s inimitable hall under the stars, is lit up in the heart of the city, capable of giving 8,000 spectators the magic of a world premiere:
