Village Festival

Mendrisio is the city with the most vineyards in Canton Ticino, and its region is best known for its strong ties to tradition and the undisputed quality of its food and wine offerings.
The city of Mendrisio is also, even today, known as the Magnificent Village, an appellation that testifies to its history and the presence in the historic center of different monuments that recall its illustrious past:
picturesque alleys, typical houses with inner courtyards and terracotta roofs, medieval and Baroque churches.

The festival is generally a folk festival with a traditional characterthat originates from the celebration of an event with a religious character or commemoration, mostly of saints, sometimes of the patron saint, or created to celebrate the harvest and to promote a local food and wine product.
The Sagra del Borgo, which aims to be a celebration of the grape harvest and its products, is for all intents and purposes the feast of the grape harvest and aspires to become the event that allows people to walk the streets of the historic center of the Magnificent Village while appreciating and rediscovering local traditions, customs, customs and products.
