79th Ascona Music Weeks

The Ascona Music Weeks have been the most prestigious classical music festival in Italian-speaking Switzerland for no less than 79 years, with a program consisting of major symphony concerts, chamber music evenings and single-instrument récitals. The world’s most celebrated artists have been to Ascona at least once, and many of them have returned several times.
The concerts take place in the picturesque setting of the Collegio Papio churches in Ascona and San Francesco in Locarno, two very beautiful buildings with excellent acoustic characteristics, where the artists and the audience experience the concert in an engaging atmosphere that invites concentration and pure enjoyment of the music.
Once again this year, after its debut in the 2013 edition of the festival, artistic director Francesco Piemontesi intends to present his audience with musical expressions of the highest international standard.
