From the origins

Antico Grotto Ticino, run by Peter and Odette Raith, is located on the street of the Cantine del Borgo in Mendrisio.

Peter Raith, patron and chef of Antico Grotto Ticino, decided to take on a long challenge by taking over the grotto after numerous experiences through the kitchens of prestigious European and Swiss hotels.

The grotto, built over a century ago but recently modernized, has well-distributed spaces both inside and outside. The wine cellar is dug into a limestone rock that provides excellent conditions for maintaining the many bottles of wine.
